Day 1: Tuesday 29/June/27 -Departure From South Africa to Rome

We meet at “Qatar Airways departure desk of O.R. Tambo International airport at 11h00. Complete the necessary formalities, greet family and friends, and depart for Doha at 14h45. Arrive in Doha at 23h55, we stay in transit for our flight to Rome.Depart for Rome at 02h55

Day 2: Wednesday 30/June/27 – Arrival Rome

We Arrive in Rome at 07h25. Meet and Greet with the assistant at the Airport, followed by transfer to the hotel to drop the luggage and have some breakfast.  After breakfast we are transferred to the City Centre for a short orientation tour before lunch.  After lunch we return to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.  Dinner & overnight at hotel .

Day 3: Thursday  01/July/27 –  Rome

After breakfast we visit St. Paul Outside the Walls (one of Rome’s four major papal basilicas, built over the tomb of the Apostle Paul along Via Ostiense and rebuilt in 1840 after an 1823 fire.) and the Abbey of the Three Fountains (According to legend, when Paul was beheaded by order of Emperor Nero, his head bounced three times, and at each spot a spring appeared, giving the abbey its name. After Lunch we can do some Market-Shopping, before being transferred to the hotel for dinner & Overnight

Day 4: Friday 02/July/ 27 – Rome

After breakfast we visit the Colosseum (Rome’s iconic ancient amphitheatre,), Roman Forum (was the political, religious, and commercial heart of ancient Rome, serving as a central gathering place for public life, government, and commerce.) and Mamertime Prison (was a prison with a dungeon – traditional site of the imprisonments of the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Peter).  Highlights of the morning tour will include Curia Julia – the ancient Senate House, remarkably preserved with its original marble floors. Temple (Altar) its reliefs depicting the spoils from Jerusalem, including the Menorah.  After a late lunch we visit Catacombs of St.Sebastian  (An Early Christian Burial Site. – It is believed to have been temporarily housed of Julius Caesar – marking the site where Julius Caesar was cremated in 44BC. & Arch of Titus – famous for the relics of the Apostles Peter and Paul in the mid-3rd century, then it was as  “memoria Apostolorum,” meaning “memory of the Apostles,” Transferred to the hotel for Dinner & Overnight.

Day 5: Saturday 03/July/ 27 – Rome

After breakfast our visits include St. Peter’s Basilica (The Beating Heart of Vatican City – One of the Oldest Churches in the World, filled with many masterpieces of Renaissance and Baroque art.  It is traditionally believed to be the burial site of Saint Peter, Apostle of Jesus and the first Pope, whose tomb lies beneath the high altar, known as the Altar of the Confession.) and the VATICAN GROTTOES (burial place of more than 90 Popes).  After lunch we have some Free -Shopping- Time on own before transferred to Hotel for Dinner & Overnight

Day 6: Sunday 04/July/ 27 – Rome

Today will be a Day-Of-Leisure.  You can sleep-in or explore on your own. (After breakfast, the Coach will be to our disposal for 6 hours as a Group). Lunch will be at own cost.

Day 7 : Monday 05/July/ 27 – Rome

After Breakfast we will spend a few hours at a shopping mall on the way to the Airport. Lunch will be at the mall (slice of Pizza and 1 cooldrink). Transferred to Rome Airport for our flight to Doha, departing @ 16h100.  Arrive in Doha @ 22h35 and stay in transit for our flight back to SA.

Day 8: Tuesday 06/July/ 27

Depart for Johannesburg at 01h30.  We arrive in Johannesburg at 09h00 after a wonderful tour and a great circle of new friends.
